While people are being massacred in Mogadishu, the mainstream media is instead obsessed with 24-hour coverage of Brexit– telling us that the sky is falling, and criticizing the Britons because they have freed themselves from the socialists at the EU.

Islamic terrorism is on the march. Painfully, I find myself again having to denounce the fact that terrorist attacks in sub-Saharan Africa continue to be underreported by the mainstream media. Had today’s terrorist attack at the Hotel Naso Hablod in Mogadishu (the capital of Somalia) taken place in a major city in Europe or the United States, it would receive 24-hour coverage for many days– as it should. Why isn’t there the same degree of interest when terrorist attacks take place in sub-Saharan Africa? The reports coming out of Somalia indicate a death toll between 14 and 35 people.

UPDATE June 26, 2016: Screen caption of the Hotel Naso Hablod on Trip Advisor’s website:

This geographical preference for news coverage is wrong. Even if there aren’t enough correspondents on the ground– there are always local sources that can provide much information.
I have written about this issue before:
Underreported terrorist attacks
I pray for the innocent people who lost their lives today in Mogadishu, at the hands of Islamic extremists. The world needs to pay attention to the plight of the thousands of innocent people dying at the hands of terrorists in sub-Saharan Africa.
Someone has to say the truth…
