José Angel Buesa was one of Cuba’s greatest poets. He was born in 1910 and died in Santo Domingo in 1982, exiled as an anti-communist from the land he loved.
I grew up reading and listening to his poems, which my mother would lovingly recite.
The following recitation of “La Sed Insaciable” performed by Spanish actor Rafael Taria, will move even those who are indifferent to poetry.
In Spanish– but the cadence and feeling are in the universal language of love.
