News reports out of Turkey and Europe indicate that Turkey’s Constitutional Court has annulled the child sex abuse clause.

There’s a difference between legalization and decriminalization. However, when it comes to the sexual abuse of a child it is immoral to argue that there is a difference, when such a heinous crime goes unpunished.

Such news out of Turkey does not come as a surprise, since paedophilia and pederasty is rampant in many Muslim countries, such as in the case of Afghanistan, where pederasty is institutionalized. Please read my commentary on pederasty in Afghanistan HERE.

Excerpt from Hurriyet Daily News (a leading news source for Turkey and the region):

The Constitutional Court has ruled to annul a provision that punishes all sexual acts against children under the age of 15 as “sexual abuse,” stirring outrage from academics and women’s rights activists who warn that the decision will lead to cases of child abuse going unpunished.”

The Turkey Federation of Women’s Association (TKDF) may appeal to the European Court of Human Rights. (*)- See footnotes.

Oh sure.

This is the same court that considers homosexuality a “human right.” I have news for the TKDF: pederasty is the homosexual practice of engaging in sex with prepubescent boys.

There’s an evil war against children all over the world. Those who are not aborted are relentlessly subjected, across the globe, to the sexualization of their innocent minds at an early age– through the internet, social media, television, billboards, magazines, as well as through public and even private education. Others are preyed upon by monster predators who engage in paedophilia and pederasty.

We’re living in a very dark and evil world. It is the duty of every parent to be aware and to denounce the aforementioned evil environment– anywhere it rears its evil head. Please read important reference articles below.

MURKY IN TURKEY: A confusing military coup unfolds

By Marielena Montesino de Stuart

UPDATE Saturday, July 16, 2016: An even uglier turn of event as Hamas (a terrorist group) parades down the streets of Gaza in support of Turkey’s Islamic President Erdogan.

A military coup is under way in Turkey. The Turkish state-controlled Anadolu Press Agency has reported a military helicopter attack against police special forces headquartered in or near Ankara.

You should not be surprised that this coup is taking place.

Since becoming Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been openly embracing Islam– while flirting with Western values for the purpose of advancing commerce. In spite of his ambivalent persona, Erdogan is an Islamic leader, whose repeated censorship of Twitter, social media and free speech has divided young Turks and created general resentment among the Turkish people, most of whom had become secularized after decades of changes resulting from the modernization started by Turkey’s first president, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

In addition, Erdogan’s government has been dealt a strong blow with the recent Islamic terrorist bombings in Istanbul’s airport. It should also be noted that there are ongoing supply chains from the Turkish territory into ISIS-held areas. This is all taking place in Erdogan’s watch. But Erdogan’s actions have shown that he is more interested in defeating Assad in Syria than in defeating ISIS.

Erdogan’s Islamic roots have been well documented through his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP)– which has been long  accused of seeking to impose conservative Islamic values on Turkish society.

In the midst of all this, Turkey remains critical for NATO’S strategies in the region.

Ironically, Erdogan behaved like a millennial today and did a veritable about-face when he found himself limited to transmitting his message to the people of Turkey through iPhone’s FaceTime (a video social media app)– from the location where he was vacationing. As millennials would say, I can’t even

As of the time of this post, it is impossible to know which side is winning– since Ankara, the capital of Turkey, is in intermittent blackouts– but reports indicate that the military is gaining control of parliament buildings, and explosions are taking place.

Given the unfolding disaster in Turkey, this is a good time to revisit “There is Anxiety in Ankara” — which I published on May 17, 2014 outlining Turkey’s geopolitical reality, vis-à-vis Russia and as a member of the NATO Alliance.

It is in Ankara, after all, where the fate of this coup will be decided– and inevitably where most blood will be shed.

Lions, Bulls and Babies… unfortunately in that order

By Marielena Montesino de Stuart

During the past two weeks the world has seen the investigative undercover videos that are exposing the brutal dismemberment of babies at Planned Parenthood– for the purpose of selling their tissues and body parts.

Watching these videos is a hellish experience– but one which humanity needs to confront. Unfortunately, liberal politicians and “social justice” advocates for women’s “health rights” are out in force trying to turn the issue around by questioning the “legality” of the undercover investigation that has exposed these heinous crimes.

What a cowardly act!

In fact, a temporary restraining order has been issued by the Los Angeles Superior Court preventing the Center for Medical Progress, the group which conducted the Planned Parenthood investigation, from releasing any videos of leaders of a California “company” (Planned Parenthood) that provides fetal tissue to “researchers.”

Public indignation about Planned Parenthood’s savage practices is coming mostly from the pro-life sector– with some pro-choicers feeling a bit queasy– but too afraid to rock the women’s rights boat, while the liberal talking heads mostly ignore this massacre of babies.

Now, in comes Cecil the lion– who was killed by a dentist from Minnesota while on safari in Zimbabwe. There’s no question that killing this beloved lion was senseless– but the attention that Cecil the lion has received from the media and through social networking completely overshadows the attention that dismembered babies have received.

A similar situation exists in Spain, where there’s a socialist movement focused on outlawing bullfighting– while thousands of babies are murdered through abortion. Interestingly, the very people who are determined to interfere with bullfighting are also promoting the Islamization of Spain. For example, separatists in Catalonia– which is one of Spain’s autonomous regions, encourage the building of mosques and Islamic centers in exchange for votes in favor of cessation.

Meanwhile, Cecile– the “lioness” of Planned Parenthood– has published an opinion piece in the Washington Post fiercely defending Planned Parenthood’s barbaric practices and trying to portray PP’s business as “medicine” by stating that “medical and scientific conversations can be upsetting to hear…”

What is “medical” or “scientific” about tearing a baby apart and selling his or her tissues and body parts?

We live in a world where lions and bulls come before babies. Unreal, is it not?

How can anyone with blood running through their veins defend the barbaric practice of dismembering helpless babies?  It is evident that some very dark forces have taken over humanity– as we witness the lack of indignation and outrage against these merchants of death.

It’s time to lift the fog… someone has to say the truth.

More undercover videos are being published exposing the sale of baby tissue and body parts at Planned Parenthood. Here is the latest one, which is introduced under the title, Human Capital— “a multi-part documentary web series on Planned Parenthood’s sale of aborted baby parts“– and “the exploitation of aborted fetal tissue.”

The TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) is another bad trade deal

By Marielena Montesino de Stuart

Hawaii is the site of a meeting held by the trade “experts” who are putting the finishing touches on the harmful TPP deal. Now they are pressuring Canada to alter its supply management, which would affect the Canadian poultry and dairy industries. Canada’s government doesn’t want to mess with their chickens and cows right now– and prefers to deal with them after their elections are over.

Canadian farmers– brace yourselves!

Meanwhile, Malaysia is being removed from worst status in the U.S. State Department Human Trafficking List– in order to prop it up as a partner in this trade deal. It’s enough to make you nauseous. Vietnam, another TPP trade partner, is also being upgraded on the human trafficking list.

The partners of the TPP are Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam.

Human rights groups and many legislators are denouncing these upgrades in the Human Trafficking List– but the crafters and promoters of the TPP appear unfazed.

There’s some excellent cheddar produced in Canada. It looks like soon it will be replaced by Malaysian Cheddar at our local markets.

THE TURKISH BRAINTEASER: Turkey finally enters fight against ISIS… but with a proviso against the PKK

By Marielena Montesino de Stuart

Turkey’s dislike of Assad’s regime in Syria does not sit well with Moscow– and Turkey’s support of Syria’s opposition forces has not gone unnoticed in the Kremlin. If the Turks intervene in Syria, the PKK will most likely take up arms against Turkey once again.

There’s Anxiety in Ankara by Marielena Montesino de Stuart

Screen Shot 2015-07-27 at 3.43.03 PM

I published the above commentary, There is Anxiety in Ankara, on May 17, 2014 after Russia’s annexation of Crimea– anticipating the events that would take place in the region, particularly involving Turkey, ISIS and the Kurdish PKK.

Allow me to explain.

The government of Turkey, which for a long time had turned secular, has renewed its embrace of Islam in honor of its Ottoman days of “glory.” This retro style is not very pleasing to the majority of Turks– who have grown used to a more modern European identity, considering their modern geopolitical status at the crossroads of two continents.

But with Turkey’s reset of the Islamic button and ISIS plowing through the cradle of civilization killing everyone and destroying everything in sight– and asking others to kill the infidels wherever they are– it is as if the Moslems are standing once again at the Gates of Vienna.

Interestingly, within a matter of a few short days, Turkey, a passive member of NATO, has finally moved into action against ISIS, allowing coalition attacks to be launched from its bases– but with a proviso: their military strikes, as far as the Turks are concerned, must include aerial bombings of PKK Kurdish separatist locations in northern Iraq.

It also appears that Turkey has negotiated a no-fly zone in northern Syria, with details to be worked out, in order to deal with the Assad regime (which the Turks fear)– and which the United States has not considered a priority– compared with the ISIS threat.

This “no-fly zone” is technically not one– since coalition forces would be allowed to fly through it– but on the basis of military tactics it would be considered a no-fly zone.

The situation with Turkey is getting complicated– since the Turks are going after the PKK Kurds– who have been willing to take up arms on the ground against ISIS in the region. As such, the Kurds accuse the Turkish government of aiding jihadists– and consider Turks to be collaborationists with ISIS. This has brought on new violence between Turkish and Kurdish forces– and has ended several years of cease fire between them.

The word on the street is that the Turkish government is more interested in going after Assad and the Kurds– than in fighting ISIS.

Sadly, this will further threaten the entire Balkans-Caucasus region– as Russia may threaten Turkey, given that Moscow does not want Turkey to go against the Assad regime.

And the Turks… well, they have been terrified of the Russians– since Catherine the Great crushed their Crimean Khanate.

To understand this Turkish brainteaser please read There is Anxiety in Ankara.

Obama to President of Kenya: “As an African-American I am painfully aware of the history of what happens when people are treated differently under the law”

By Marielena Montesino de Stuart

The people of Kenya see “gay rights” as a nonissue– and Obama is well aware of this. But during today’s press conference in Nairobi, Obama insisted on lecturing the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, on this subject– and made the following statement:

“As an African-American I am painfully aware of the history of what happens when people are treated differently under the law.”

President Kenyatta wouldn’t budge– and firmly responded that “gay rights” are a “nonissue” for Kenyans.

Now… let’s see how differently Barack Hussein Obama II has been treated as an African-American by the American people under the law:

√ The American people elected Barack Hussein Obama II twice as President of the United States– the highest office in the land, bestowing upon him the privilege to lead what’s left of the free world. Obama took this privilege and turned it on its head by “leading from behind.” We are “painfully aware” of the results of his “leadership.”

√ He attended the prestigious Columbia University.

√ He attended the elite Harvard School of Law (where he was given the opportunity to serve as president of theHarvard Law Review)

√ He was hired to work as a civil rights attorney.

√ He was hired to teach constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School.

√ He was elected three times to represent the 13th District in the Illinois Senate.

Yes indeed… Barack Hussein Obama II has been treated very differently.

It’s time to lift the fog… someone has to say the truth.

There is Anxiety in Ankara

Featured Post

The Turks are working their worry beads… as chaos surrounds them.

There is a reason Turkey is very nervous these days, particularly when it comes to Crimea.

When Turks think of Crimea they think of the Crimean Khanate, a Turkish-Mongol basal state under the Ottoman Empire, until 1783– when Catherine the Great annexed the region.

As such, it was in Crimea that the Turkish people saw their powerful Ottoman Empire subjected to a major defeat, at the hands of the Russians.

Nothing was ever the same for the Turks– and now history is repeating itself with Russia’s annexation of Crimea under Vladimir Putin.

Ankara's Kocatepe Mosque
Ankara’s Kocatepe Mosque

By the late nineteenth century, the Ottoman Empire had been overwhelmed by Russia– in the Black Sea, the Caucasus and the Balkans. The only hope the Turks had left was to kindle Moslem Tatar unrest in Crimea.

In addition to the Russian Empire, Ukraine and its Crimean peninsula have been under the domination of various powers, including the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Poland — as well as under the boot of the former Soviet Union. This is why this region is considered Europe’s main theater of war.

Crimea is a symbol of victory for Russia. But Turks never forgot the power and influence they once held over the area; consequently, the Ottoman Empire entered World War I by attacking Crimea’s harbor in Sevastopol and destroying Russia’s ability to command the Black Sea during WWI.

The Marxist takeover of Russia thwarted Turkey’s plans– eventually leading to a cooperation between Moscow and Ankara, known as the Treaty of Moscow (1921)– a classic case of “if you can’t beat them, join them.” By the time World War II broke out, Turkey had grown used to a “dialogue” of sorts with Moscow– and assumed a position of neutrality.

Ankara, however, felt Moscow’s threat to Turkish sovereignty more and more with Joseph Stalin in the picture. Stalin’s insistence that Soviet ships pass through the Bosporus strait was a scary situation for the Turks. This pressure from the Soviets escalated– leaving Turkey with no option but to “take sides” by joining NATO in 1952.

The above historical trajectory has magnified Turkey’s sometimes advantageous, sometimes  vulnerable geographical position at the edge of Europe– which now has Ankara welcoming European sustainable development (socialist) economic deals, while asserting its Moslem side.

This duality was evident during the visit to Turkey by the Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, and Luxembourg’s Cuban-born Grand Duchess, María Teresa, in November 2013.

With the annexation of Crimea, Turkey faces Russian expansion in the region– reminiscent of Catherine the Great. But Vladimir Putin’s “victory” of annexing Crimea is not due to being a “great” leader; instead, it is due to the military and economic weakness of his neighbors– and his desire to recover the former Soviet Union’s territories.

Putin is an old KGB thug– but he is no fool. He knows that he also needs to win over the Moslem population in Ukraine, including the Tatars, in order to strengthen the Russian sphere of influence in the region’s Moslem communities.

Putin and the Tatars in Crimea

A Crimean Tatar teaching the Koran
A Crimean Tatar teaching the Koran

Putin has assumed that the Crimean Tatars’ Moslem blood will run thicker on the Russian side, than in the waters of their Sunni Turkic origin.

But he is wrong.

Crimean Tatars, who in current times are comprised of Sufis, Taqfirs, Salafis, Jihadis, etc., are less than enthusiastic about living under Russian rule, considering that their history vividly recounts the loss of the Crimean Khanate to Russia. In fact, many Crimean Tatars boycotted the Crimean Referendum– and the leader of the Crimean Tatars’ assembly, Refat Chubarov, has called for a national and autonomous region for Tatars in Crimea.

Furthermore, the memory of being deported by the Soviets in cattle wagons– and dying by the thousands in the process– is still fresh in their minds.

Tatars have been a loud voice against the Russian annexation of Crimea, except for some small groups that feel abandoned by the Ukrainian government in Kiev.

The annexation of Crimea– with its long history of religious ethnic minorities and struggles– is like purchasing an old car: it will require a lot of maintenance. But for Putin, this effort is well worth it– taking into consideration the strategic advantage Russia enjoys by controlling the Crimean peninsula, which includes a prominent presence in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Basin.

This is why Putin was joined by the two highest-ranking Moslem leaders in Russia, during the Crimean annexation ceremony in the Kremlin: Mufti Sheikh-ul-Islam Talgat Tadzhuddin, Chairman of the Central Clerical Administration of Moslems of Russia Supreme, and Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, the Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia. The evidence of their presence during the annexation ceremony was critically important to Putin, as he gains new territory and appeases Tatar Moslem communities– while presenting a farcical Christian front to the rest of the world.

What about the Kremlin conformist, the Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill?

Kirill was absent during the Crimea annexation ceremony.

Well, well, well…

Could it be that Kirill is concerned that the Russian chaos in Ukraine could ruin Russia’s Orthodox plans to be seen as the leader of world Orthodoxy?– an honorary primacy traditionally held by the Patriarch of Constantinople.

If this is the case, numbers will play a big role in Ukraine, where Orthodoxy is deeply divided. There is also unrest amongst Orthodox church members who until now were loyal to Moscow– but are now turning towards Kiev. In addition, there are reports of violence against Catholic and Ukrainian clergy in Crimea.

So far, it looks like Kirill’s friend, Vladimir Putin, is ruining the farcical Christian program at the Kremlin, which Kirill has been supporting.

We will have to wait and see how Patriarch Kirill will proceed, in anticipation of the pan-Orthodox council that will convene in 2016– considered to be their largest and most significant event since 787 AD.

This pan-religious council has the goal of unifying Orthodox Christians in their approach to modern times.

Good luck.

Watch the Kremlin take over this council and control the show.

You see, the Kremlin has controlled the Russian Orthodox Church– from the Soviet period to the present time.

This is another example of why I stress to my readers that Russia, under Vladimir Putin’s control, must not be trusted from a Christian standpoint– no matter how tempting it is– during these dark times when Christians are being persecuted and are desperately looking for someone in a position of leadership to say the right words.

As far as Catholics are concerned, Russia will continue on this murky path until it is duly consecrated, pursuant to the request of the Virgin Mary at Fatima.

Meanwhile, there is not much the Turks can do about Russia’s annexation of Crimea– since the Turkish economy is highly dependent on importing Russian energy products. More than half of Turkey’s natural gas needs are met by Russia– and Russia is Turkey’s number-one trading partner.

There have been reports that the Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has issued threats to close the Bosporus to Russian ships– if the Crimean Tatars are threatened.  We will be shocked if he follows through with his threat, given Turkey’s economic dependency on Russia.

Ankara stands to be punished if it crosses Moscow– just as when the Russians set up the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK)– which carried out terror attacks against Turkey for several decades. The PKK became active in Lebanon’s  Bekaa Valley under Syrian occupation, during the 1980’s. The PKK continued to receive the tacit support of the Kremlin, even after the Soviet Union “dissolved.”

Turkey entered into peace talks with the PKK– but remains alert to the fact that hardline PKK members are not to be trusted.

It is patently clear that Turkey will not mess with Russia.

Moslems under Russian expansion

This difficult relationship between Moslems and Russians evidently goes back hundreds of years– and Moslems in the region have learned to survive with this tension. This is why Moslem communities have a history of benefitting from their participation in trade networks created through Russian expansion.

Crimean Tatars do not identify fully with the Islamic approach of the Russian mullahs who frequent the Kremlin; nevertheless, the Tatars in Crimea, like their Moslem counterparts in Russia, are accustomed to an imperfect, albeit pragmatic and economically viable modus operandi with their Russian rulers.

The inculcation of an Islamic system, which embraces socialism, has also anchored Moslem communities in the region for a very long time. Moslem leaders in Russia take advantage of this environment by essentially claiming that Russian expansionism acts as a “protection” against the more radical Saudi-style Islamic presence. This will only work with those who do not identify with global jihad– and there is support for global jihad in Crimea.

Embed from Getty Images

With all this in mind, Vladimir Putin is going out of his way to appease the Tatars in Crimea– even offering to make Crimean Tatar an official language, alongside Ukrainian and Russian. Crimean Tatar is a member of the Kypchak branch of Turkic languages.

Given the above scenario, Putin has no choice but to practice delicate diplomacy with Moslems– as part of his determination to maintain a close relationship with Moslem states that identify with Putin’s position against Washington– such as Syria, Iran and others.

Washington, on the other hand, lacks the leadership to do anything about Putin’s aggressive territorial expansion project. And at the end of the day, Putin and Obama have something in common: they are both expanding their socialist agenda. One under the disguise of Christianity– and the other in the name of “social justice.”

Tragically, while Putin is recreating the former Soviet Union, the European Union– which is also highly dependent on Russian energy products– has little to offer, other than socialism and austerity programs.

No wonder there is anxiety in Ankara– as well as in the entire Balkans-Caucasus region.

Someone has to say the truth…
