The Plight of Christian Refugees in Pakistan

By Marielena Montesino de Stuart

There is no doubt that the persecution of Christians has intensified all over the world.

Pakistanis who convert to Christianity suffer terrible persecution inside their country. Their only chance of survival is to flee. Many of these Pakistani Christians seek refuge in Thailand where they wait as UN-registered asylum seekers to be processed by the UNHCR (the UN High Commissioner for Refugees)– but the UN can take years to process their documents. In the meantime they suffer inhume treatment inside Thailand.
It appears that the United Nations does not place sufficient importance on the processing of Christian refugees– compared to the quick actions they have taken in Europe on behalf of Muslim refugees fleeing war-torn areas in the Middle East.
Again, the United Nations– which is supposed to practice “social justice”– seems to apply their justice on a selective basis.

The Boys of the Chong Chon Gang are back!

Politics, religion and Communist arms trade– a drama on the high seas

In late September 2013 I wrote about a mysterious North Korean cargo ship, the Chong Chon Gang, which was caught carrying an illicit Cuban arms cache, hidden underneath 10,000 tons of sugar. My report unmasked the religious and political forces in cahoots with the Cuban Communist dictatorship, while the Cuban people continue under horrendous oppression– and these international crimes are being committed.

But let’s recap. The sweet Cuban load consisted of the following:

> Two MiG-21 jet fighters

 MiG-21 jet aircraft engines

> 6 military vehicles

> A variety of small arms

> Light weapons (SALW) ammunition

> Conventional artillery ammunition for anti-tank guns and howitzer artillery

> Generators

> Batteries

> Night vision equipment, among other items

SOCIALISTS EAT CAVIAR: Oh, oui, je me souviens de ces plaisirs…

By Marielena Montesino de Stuart

Oh, oui, je me souviens de ces plaisirs… (oh, yes, I remember these pleasures)

Rue Cler, Paris

I remember the day I walked into a gourmet shop on Rue Cler in Paris’ 7th arrondissement.  The shop owner gave me a taste test of his finest caviar.  And because life is nothing but one contrast after another, I chatted with him about growing up during Cuba’s Stalinist period– and spending seven months eating garbanzo beans (which I do not touch to this day).  My mother became an expert at preparing garbanzo beans in every possible way. Today she would put to shame the most creative chef at Noma, in Copenhagen– ranked the best restaurant in the world for its inventive cuisine.

Castro and Caviar

While we were surviving on garbanzo beans, Fidel Castro was eating Russian caviar. Don’t miss the rest of this BRIEF COMMENTARY
